Here at Yummy Yorkshire we are gearing up to open our gates for our annual FREE family festival weekend, Yummy Fest. The festival, formally known as Tractor Fest, may have had a name change but it will still offers visitors a weekend packed full of farming fun, food and entertainment in the sun (we can but hope!).
Yummy Fest, which takes place on the 15th & 16th of July, has seen over 20,000 visitors flock to Yummy Yorkshire since its inaugural year in 2015 and 2017 promises to be even better. 2017 sees Yorkshire Air Ambulance return as the festivals named charity partner, with a helicopter landing scheduled for the Sunday the 16th of July 2017, subject to operational requirements.
Yummy Yorkshire are also delighted to welcome Wakefield Grammar School Foundation on site as the festival’s main sponsor.
Yummy Fest pays homage to our farming heritage with a display of vintage tractors but that forms only a small part of this family friendly event. Visitors will be able to enjoy FREE entertainment across the course of the weekend, with plenty to keep little ones and grown-ups amused:
- Children’s craft and chocolate workshops, where you can make lots of goodies to take home.
- Get your groove on in a Pop Party and StarMovers dance sessions.
- Discover the art of making the perfect pizza with DeliVita Ltd,
- Join Wakefield Grammar School Foundation in a little healthy competition, enjoy a swingball contest (or two!),
- Children’s fairground rides and a retro Speedway ride that’s fast enough for big kids to enjoy.
- Ride on the Wortley Top Forge miniature steam engine.
- Enjoy a variety of live music and entertainment from local bands and artists!
In keeping with Yummy Yorkshire’s culinary passion, there will be an abundance of street food producers on site selling their amazing produce along with a Stancill Brewery Bar in the main event tent. Add to this a Made and Found Market showcasing some of the best local artisan producers and Yummy Fest offers a great FREE day out for all the family to enjoy!
Visitors are invited to carry on the fun as the sun sets over the festival’s beautiful corner of Yorkshire. Dance the night away with the Ordinary Men, Yorkshire’s premier party band. Five Ordinary Guys who when they come together create an experience that’s anything but ordinary, covering an extensive repertoire of songs that span the ages, from the classics right through to the most current hits, they promise to make the Yummy Fest Evening Gig a night to remember.
Adult entrance tickets are charged at £7.50, child entrance tickets are charged at £2.50 (under 1’s FREE) and are available from The Parlour or any of the Yummy Yorkshire outlets at Yummy Fest 2017.
Yummy Yorkshire’s owner Jeremy Holmes commented: “We’re very excited about Yummy Fest 2017, last year’s event was really well received and we hope to build upon its success offering visitors a relaxed festival feel that has something to offer all the family.”
We are delighted to be able to support Yorkshire Air Ambulance again this year, the work they do is invaluable, especially in the rural community in which we live.
We’re gearing up for a festival atmosphere with lots of family fun, think excellent acoustic music sets, craft and chocolate making workshops, cooking demonstrations and may be even some raw milk sampling, there really will be something for everyone to enjoy. Gate entry into the event is FREE, visitors will simply be asked to make a minimum donation of £2 for parking with proceeds being donated to Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Camping will be available onsite and we welcome Ordinary Men who promise to keep everyone dancing our Saturday evening Yummy Fest Gig!
We really look forward to welcoming visitors on site for this family festival!”
Yorkshire Air Ambulance, West & South Yorkshire Regional Fundraising Manager, Kerry Garner added: “We’re delighted to have the continued support from the Yummy Yorkshire team, this is such a fantastic event to be involved in and represents a community which know all too well how important the service we provide can be.
We rely on the generosity of individuals, organisations and fundraising events such as this one to enable us to operate our two air ambulances and provide life-saving state-of-the-art care to a population of around five million people across four million acres; a service which costs £12,000 a day to run.”
